Total Hockey Website

Hurray! I got a job that is perfect for me. I am the new Web Operations Manager for Total Hockey. I will be starting the second week of August.

It took some time, and some missteps, but in the end being patient and looking for the best fit has paid off.

Thanks to all my friends, tweeps and FB peeps who have cheered me on and lent a hand. I will be working out out of the Saint Peters store so … Continue Reading

Interview with Total Hockey

Total Hockey

Total Hockey

Just had a great interview with Total Hockey for their Web Operations Manager position. They are a local Saint Louis company that has been expanding both its retail locations and web presence. The people I spoke with were great, down to earth guys.

So this would be a job doing marketing on the web for a hockey company. Sounds like a great fit to me.  I should hear back in a couple of weeks.

What indeed Scott, what indeed.

Check out Scott’s blog here. Video.

The Get Mike a Job campaign was featured on Walt Jaschek’s AdSaint blog yesterday. The site is an excellent resource for those in the Ad industry in Saint Louis.

According to Google Analytics 22 clicks came from the site. I also received a tweet from Mark Philip at Switch who saw the post and told me to apply for a marketing position with his company.

Big thanks to Walt for the post! AdSaint.com Video.

Booths at the Job Fair

Booths at the Job Fair

Today I’m going to a job fair in Chesterfield. If you have a job for me or need one yourself, meet me there. I have not had great success with these types of events in the past, but I am willing to give it a try. Video.

Update:

Next time I will look at what type of jobs are to be offered at the fair. These were not good job choices for me. Mostly entry level, insurance sales and work from home businesses. Great jobs, but not what I am looking to do.

Updated Facebook Ad | Get Mike a Job Day 15

Stats from the updated Facebook ad

Stats from the updated Facebook ad

The Facebook ad was not getting any impressions so I adjusted the settings. It is now targeting the keywords “job” and “recruiter” and going nationwide. I jumped from 4 impressions and 0 clicks from the first week to over 6,000 impressions and 4 clicks in the first day with the new perameters. Still a shot in the dark, but only costs $1 per day. Video.
